Library Announcements

*The DMC archive continues to expand and now includes 94 bookbinders, Princeton boxes, etc. of material. Finding Aids (Cross reference lists) are now being created. Please contact the librarian if there is anything you would like to find in the collection. (6/2011)

*A color printer is now available in the library.(05/2011)

*The display of old marine science lab & field equipment has been expanded and continues to grow.  Please contact the librarian if you have an item you would like to donate. (2/2011)

 *A collection of bibliographies on the Gulf of Maine and on Maine estuaries has been gathered. (9/2010)

* There were numerous theses and dissertations of research work done here at the DMC that were not available to DMC Library patrons. The Science and Engineering Center has photocopied and cataloged many of these works, and they are now available for loan to DMC patrons. (1/2010)

* The DMC archive has now been fully digitalized and is available on the DMC shared drive (09/01/09).

* The library has begun collecting outdated and unused marine science lab equipment and oceanographic tools. These items are being put on display in the library. Please contact the librarian if you have an item you would like to donate. (03/17/09)

* The DMC Archive collection continues to expand, and continues to look for worthy archival material. Research summaries are considered welcome and prized additions. At the moment the archives are currently being digitally preserved. (03/17/09)

* The library's Reprint collection is currently being indexed in an EndNote Library. As of this date author names from A-H have been indexed. (03/17/09)

* The book exchange section has expanded. Besides the leisure reading exchange, there is a marine science research material exchange. (03/17/09)

* The library's Sea Grant collection has now been fully indexed in an EndNote Library. (03/02/08)

* The library has a new photocopier. In addition to photocopying articles to paper, this photocopier can scan articles to a computer file. (01/02/08)

* The library has a new workstation. All four work stations have improved network connections. The library has a new printer. We have also repositioned a wireless booster which has increased the strength of the wireless signal. (10/17/07)

* Fisheries Research Board of Canada Technical Reports in the DMC Library have been cataloged. They can now be searched from URSUS. (9/30/07)

* The book exchange section in the middle of the library has moved around the corner. It is opposite the government document bookshelves. The book exchange space has been expanded. Contributions are welcome. (8/30/07)
